You look like a young Imelda Marcos

Day 57...The final day of work shoe posting!
This pair warrants the final slot in the challenge. They are Prada from DSW. I said it: PRADA from DSW! I nearly spent a great deal more on them, but patience paid off when they were moved to the clearance section last fall. White fading into orange patent leather peep toe chunk heels. Heaven!

Imelda Marcos was the first lady in the Philipines in 1965, as wife to Ferdinand Marcos. What she is most known for is her massive shoe collection, which included over 2,500 pairs. If she changed shoes three times a day and did not repeat any, it would take nearly 2 1/2 years to get through them all. Imagine what a blog she would have! Not only was Imleda ranked 58th in the "100 Most Powerful Women in the World", but she coined the phrase imeldific to boot! I don't believe my shoe collection deserves the title imeldific yet.

Orange you glad I didn't say Banana?

Day 56...I start the day off with a joke. Today's shoes are the second to last pair of work shoes. I will not hide it, I love these shoes and have been waiting to wear them.

I bought these at JCrew when I worked there a few years ago. They were definitely pricey, but I did not care. Linen covered 3 inch wedge, orange patent leather. I am sure my cousin Julie will vote Keep on these. I am wearing an orange sweater and a matching bracelet to go with my shoes.

I bought these over food.

Day 55...As you can see by the title, when I first saw these shoes, I dropped my jaw. My sister said "If you'd rather forgo groceries and buy these, then you have to have them."
Virginia actually bought them in a black/beige combo (aren't you glad I did not, seeing as how many pairs I have that fit that description??) They are BCBG from DSW, probably one of the first DSW purchases at that. I was a freshman at college and I bought these as my Easter shoes! The white leather at the toe part has tiny holes in it and is solid at the heel part. Accents are pink, including a pink flower. I know this isn't important, but the inside is yellow! I had to add a gel insert to these because they have stretched out over the years.
I was obviously infatuated with these at the beginning, but have not worn them much lately. Is it time to say goodbye to my Easter shoes? You decide. Calvin the cat snuck in the picture today! Ha!

“Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes"-Jack Handey from SNL
Also, I am down to my last 2 pairs of work shoes!!! Friday is the final day of posting work shoes. I will continue to post weekend shoes and will potentially do a stand-off between a few pairs so that I can make sure to pair down my collection, as was intended from the start.

Lost and Found

Day 54...These babies were HIDING in my storage unit for 6 months! I happily found them last week when I moved my belongings into my new place.
A Nine West outlet purchase back in 2007, I bought these shiny greys to fill my work wardrobe. They are a bit of a malfunctioning shoe, in that when I wear them my feet often slip out the back causing a slight stop in my step. I still like the cut in at the toe and the taller heel. The patent has a couple white scuffs which I want to see if a cobbler can get out, otherwise they may have to go regardless of the outcome today. I'll keep you posted. Worn with cranberry H&M shift and navy cardi. Second photo taken after I got to work, boxes and "2 Cool" fan to boot!

Singin' in the Rain

Day 53...The forecast is rain and thunderstorms ALL WEEK so I don my flats this morning.

Stewart Weitzman pointed toe flats from DSW in tortoise patent leather in a Mary Jane style. Worn with grey pinstripe pants from Anthropologie and a yellow pullover sweater. I'm trying to feel springy today, but the weather is such a downer! The brick floor in the picture is my new condo, the whole downstairs has that floor! Notice the cat dish too...Calvin was hungry this morning.
